Dinner , Special meal: no
New Year's Day dinner at 0200! Even on the holiday, DXB was a busy place, and somehow our catering was mixed up and didn't match the menu. While this was no problem for me, much of the Premium Plus cabin was made up of vegetarians connecting from India who made quite a (valid) fuss about the crew being unable to tell with 100% certanty what was vegan/veggie and what wasn't. The flight attendants handled the situation professionally, and I felt empathy for them having to deal with this at the start of a 15-hour journey (14 + 1 hour hold for a gate at EWR on arrival due to ice/snow). As such, I was offered this "Chicken and rice" dish with a "Southwest USA inspired Salad", and it was great! Just as satisfying as my meal in Emirates Premium Economy, though I don't like seeing plastic-wrapped rolls and desserts in premium cabins. That said, the roll was fresh and good, and the brownie was so good I made a face eating it that prompted my neighbor to offer hers to me as well. Not the most fancy presentation, but a premium meal vs the economy fare for sure. Just as good taste and quality-wise as anything I've eaten in Polaris, honestly. Especially the salad which was phenomenal, something I don't say much about salads. A solid 7 all things considered. I'd give the service a 9 now that I can compare it to Emirates SFO-DXB in Premium Economy lol. The FA doing my side of Premium Plus was awesome and really made me feel like I was in a premium cabin with the ease of getting water or having trash picked up quickly. This meal was a great way to cap off the night and nod off until over LHR.

Equipment: Though the silverware and china are nice, and the packaged roll and brownie were great, if you must serve them in packaging, the wrapping can be more attractive than that.
