Still and sparkling "Aqua Minerale" water. Boiling water provided in paper cups upon request.
The catering situation on this 6-hour flight was a complete organizational mess. Due to the airline's unreliable information and contradictory policies, I ended up without a meal. On past flights, this same route featured hot meals and a full beverage service, even while the airline officially claimed otherwise. Now, they have swung to the other extreme: on a 4,000 km flight, they’ve cancelled everything except water, skipping any intermediate service levels. While a few passengers managed to pre-order paid lunchboxes, the remaining 350+ people were left "lapping up" plain water. Six hours in the air without sustenance is a grueling experience. Fortunately, I managed to find an emergency ration in my backpack: a pack of gingerbread cookies (Pryaniki), a couple of candies, two bags of Greenfield tea, and two sugar sachets. Luckily, there was enough for both me and my companion. The flight attendant provided only the hot water in paper cups. This "emergency stash" was the only thing that prevented biological collapse on board.
