Luigi Vallero

Italy (TRN) to Spain (BCN), 23 Dec 2003

Business Class

Snack/Lunch Gazpacho, canapes (smoked trout and cheese/black olives), a lomo (smoked pork loin) sandwich, a manchego cheese salad and a dried fruit bowl (figs, dates, apricots and prunes) as dessert. (Menu Card)

Pineapple/grapes juice and lemon tea out of a selection of soft cold/hot drinks and wines.

Simply great food service on this relatively short flight. The Air Nostrum service is 100% customized to the passenger request, and the stewardesses really have a lot of job for providing it, but the results shows! First of all paper tablecloths are handed out, followed by the metal cutlery set, then gapzcho (cold Spanish tomato soup) is poured in real glasses, followed by a choice of canapes (in total 6 different types) offered twice from trays by the flight attendants. Then the main plate follows, in this case a choice of lomo or cheese sandwich baguette (as fresh and crunchy as you could possibly want), followed by an assortment of three different salads. And to top it off, a choice of three desserts (fresh fruits, a pastry or great dried fruits). Everything served on real china with real glasses as well... And this style of service is provided to all passengers as the flights are operated as single class. Truly a great ambassador of Spain and possibly the nicest airline for gourmets to travel these days within Europe (after Crossair has gone, and Air Dolomiti has decided to go with a two classes product).
