Economy Class

Dinner , Special meal: no
Though I love seafood, I usually do not select it in premium cabins as the meals tend to be less exciting and less filling. However, everything in this dish was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious, and I polished the whole thing off rather quickly. While every ineraction with the FAs was extremely courteous and professional, they did not come by at all for HUGE stretches of time. My wine glass sat there about 6 hours before and FA did a trash run (even tho snacks in the galley resulted in many pax having trays out while they slept awaiting for food pick up. 15 hour flight where I slept maybe 7 or so combined and beyond the actual 2-meal services, I only saw the FAs come by ONCE the entire flight otherwise! As I can only compare it to my 3 Premium Plus segments on United, I must say that while Emirates wins in the catering department, United actually has more comfy seats (only the headrest on EK is better) and every 1-2 hours they'll make a trash/water trip down the aisles. Food 8/10, service 6/10. A pizza midflight snack was offered in the menu, but I never saw/smelled it happening despite waking up around midflight for the snack and the 2 random fellow pax I asked never saw it served, either. I did not at all expect EK FAs to spend 90% of the flight in the galley while trash piled up for close to half the flight..

Equipment: Tableware was very nice. Though the seat looked very nice and IFE was great, the less fancy United Airlines "Premium Plus" seat actually felt way better on my butt. I couldn't get more than 4-5 hours of sleep at a time as my butt would start to hurt in this Emirates seat and I'd have to get up and use the bathroom or something to get a break. MAD-EWR, NRT-LAX, and DXB-EWR in Premium Pluis and I have NOT had butt pain on any of those sectors barely getting up vs the EK flight. Maybe less effort into the appearance of the premium seats and more into padding would be nice!
