First Class
Dinner , Special meal: no
On this flight, the pre-ordered beef wellington was very good. The Waldorf Salad was a welcome change from the usual baby greens and messy olive oil/vinegar which is AA's norm. The puff pastry on the beef was crispy with a strong butter flavor but the underside was a bit soggy from the beef juice. The beef was well-done unfortunately. The roasted potatoes/carrots were good with a tasty seasoning and the asparagus was crunch which is unusual for airline food. At first, I was skeptical of the dessert which was pecan tarte. I thought that it might be a bit bland but it was very sweet and the crust crunchy. I did not try the sauce and the sour dough roll was hot.
Red wine
Good centennial meal

Equipment: Standard AA cutlery and china were used on this flight. The seat was more comfortable than on other flights, but still not optimal. // Other: I'm not sure if the cabin crew went through customer service training or the fact that on the last several flights I took had more senior crew, but in either case, flying in premium cabin on AA improved greatly in the last year. The crew now call by name with each interaction, rather than only on initial contact. At the end, they personally thank each passenger by name. On this flight, I forget our f/a's name, but he was excellent. The food was 8/10 and service 10/10, hence the 9/10 rating.
