Febuary 26 , 2013 - JAL Serves Japan-Made Cheese Onboard International Flights Japan Airlines will offer a new lineup of Japanese cheese for First and Executive Class customers on select international routes from March 1, 2013.

An assortment of 16 types of cheese have been chosen for months up to August-offering five types in First Class and three in Executive, with a change in selection at the end of May.
In First Class, customers can also choose to simply enjoy the rich flavor of the different types of cheese available, savor a specific type with a complementing snack.

April 06 , 2013 - Qantas bans ham on flights in and out of Dubai after Emirates deal Australia's national carrier has removed pork from its menu on the route since tying up with Middle Eastern airline Emirates.

Consumption of pork and pork products is strictly forbidden in Islam as it is considered unholy. A note on the Qantas menus on flights in and out of Dubai states that meals do not contain pork products or alcohol, which is also forbidden in Islam. It has also introduced a Mezze plate offering traditional Middle Eastern fare in its upper classes and has Arabic translations after in-flight announcements.

The new company, called dnata Newrest will be formed by Wings Inflight Services, jointly owned by dnata and Mentor Africa, acquiring the inflight catering services business of Newrest First Catering in South Africa.
