Route: San Diego - Chicago Midway, 8 Mar 2006
Ticket price: 300
Flight duration: 3h 45m
Class: one class only
Aircraft: Boeing 737-700
Meal: snack - 100 Calorie pack of Wheat thins, Ritz Cheese Crackers, and a Wheat Fig Newton Bar and the standard LUV peanuts.
Drink: Coke
Comments: This is the standard Southwest Airlines for flights over 3 hours in length in additon to peanuts. Southwest is improving on their snack boxes since before it was filled with unhealthy snacks. I do wish that Southwest would change the snacks once in a while since this was the same snack served in November, 2005.
One word of warning, food at San Diego Airport is very expensive when compaired to Chicago's airports.

Comments: The packed munchies were ok. The drink had a nice zing! For 4 USD! It would have been nice if the pizza was offered on the flight but it was actually the cover of the month's Spirit Magazine! :-)

Aircraft: 737-700
Meal: Snack - Dry Roasted Peanuts and Snack Mix
Drink: Heineken Beer $3.00
Comments: The snack mix and peanuts were a good snack and it went great with the beer. The $3.00 was a great price for a good imported beer like Heineken. Great service from the SWA F/A's. An enjoyable flight.

Aircraft type & class: Boeing 737 economy
Business or leisure trip: leisure
Meal type: dinner
Contents of the meal: Snack Pack with Honey Maid graham crackers, Oreo cookies, and Cheese Nip crackers. Peanuts.
Drink: Ginger Ale
Comments: Not much for a long flight leaving at 4:50 PM but an excellent airfare of $ 207 R/T so I didn't care.

Route: Orange County (CA) SNA to Oakland (CA) OAK, 09 Jul 2005
Ticket Price: US $67
Flight Duration: 1:15, gate to gate
Aircraft type & Class: 737-700, economy class (the only class)
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: breakfast?
Contents of the meal: black coffee, napkin
Drink: just coffee
Comments: Even though this was a 07:10am flight, I thought that I might get at least a pack of peanuts. Instead, there was just a choice between free coffee or orange juice. Beer/wine were $3 and mixed drinks were $4, but no peanuts at all! Then again, we were in the air for about 60 minutes only.
The coffee was weak and watery; perhaps I should have added some non-dairy creamer and/or sugar.
Rating 1 - 10 (worst-best): 4 for coffee, 8 for friendly service and half-full flight.

Route: MDW( Chicago-Midway)-OAK(Oakland) Date: 07 May 2005
Ticket Price: Discounted
Flight Duration: 4hrs.
Aircraft Type: Boeing 737-700
Leisure Trip
Meal Type: "Snack Pack"
Contents of the Meal: Current Snack Pack consists of 4 Oreo Cookies, 4 Nabisco Graham Crackers and one pack of Cheese Nips.
Drink: Soda-Coca Cola.
Comments:
I work for the airline industry. I fly Southwest because they are "no frills" and yet offer excellent service at an inexpensive price. they only offer snacks on their "long haul" non-stop flights, ie; OAK-MDW(Oakland-Chicago/Midway) or BWI-OAK(Nashville-Oakland). The morning flights offer complentry juices and coffee and then later sodas and snacks. Beer and wine-$3 and Liquor-$4. They do not have the space for hot meal service due to the little space in the galley with the type and class of plane they use. The drinking water they have comes from a can, not from a bottle
Rating: 10 Hey what do you want for snacks. I figure bring your own snacks and sandwiches which I do.

Route: LAS - BUF overnight 20Nov2004 - 21Nov2004
Ticket price: package deal with 4 nights hotel, $750USD for 2 people
Flight duration: 3¾ hours
Aircraft type & class: Boeing 737 - coach
Business or leisure trip: leisure... Vegas baby!
Meal type: prepackaged snack
Contents of the meal: Mott's strawberry applesauce cup, Lorna Doone shortbread cookies (4), Mama Says biscotti, Quaker fruit & oatmeal bar, Le Petit Fromage processed cheese, Jacob's cream crackers (2), as well as: plastic knife, spoon and wet-wipe (not pictured).
Drink: assorted hot and cold beverages
Comments: For a 'red-eye' flight, this snack pack was great! In fact, it had a better variety and more content than the so-called lunch snack we received going to Vegas (which was a longer flight that most passengers did not sleep through). Seeing as I did sleep during most of the flight, I brought my snack home and enjoyed it afterwards.

Ticket price: approx. $200
Flight duration: 3 hrs.
Aircraft type & class: Boeing 737-300, economy
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: Snack meal
Nabisco Ritz Snack Mixers and Dry Roasted Peanuts
Drink: Amstel Light
Comments: Snack mix was good with beer. Traveling companion complained about strong soy sauce-tamarind smell and taste which did not go good with soft drink. Peanuts were rather bland, but fresh. Friends that flew morning flight the next day got animal crackers instead of snack mix. Great service, flight crew friendly, funny and efficient. Meals and seat width are better on Midwest Express at small increase in cost, but would have had to route through Milwaukee to get to Phoenix from KC... not a good choice with winter storms a possibility.

Meal Type: snack, economy - Lunch time snack of crackers, peanuts, and

majors carriers for this typical Florida to New York flight. Southwest's
service is always friendly and efficient

Ticket price: $59 each way
Flight duration: about 2 hours
Aircraft type & class: 737 economy
Meal type: snack - 2 packages of peanuts, 1 package Wheat Thins
Drink: 1 can of club soda
Comments: "The steward was just fine, and gave everybody a full can, which was not the case on the flight down from SEA to OAK. The flight was 50% full, also good for me, but not necessarily for SWA's bottom line. No frills, your regular snack food, cheap tickets, on time, what more do you want?"

Flying from: Phoenix to Indianapolis, 17 October 2002
Class: Coach
Meal type: snack - Snack of Oreo cookies, cheese and crackers, fruit drops
Drink: Jack and Coke, partner had diet coke, coffee was served about 50 minutes before landing
Comments: "Southwest has changed thier snack pack for the good. They use to serve this disgusting turkey roll which would stink up the plane. I really liked thier new service. I have to wonder why other airlines can't service something like this on thier flights. What is the cost for this about $1.25 at the most ! To save bandwidth, we were served the same thing on our return flight."
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 10, the flight crew on both flights were awsome.
