Route: SIN - PER, 13 Jan 2006
Ticket price: Not sure, part of 4 sector ticket
Flight duration: 5h 00m
Class: economy
Aircraft: Boeing 777-200
Meal: Dinner, Indian Vegetarian (AVMLI) - Pumpkin curry and beans.carrots
in desiccated coconut, kidney bean and cassava(?) salad, lime pickle,
naan bread, yoghurt, crackers and margarine. Followed by ice cream.
Drink: Water, bar service
Comments: The pumpkin curry was nice, the coconut vegetables and salad
fairly ordinary. Naan bread was served cold, which is unusual. Ice cream
looked like a "premium" product but in fact the fat content
came from palm oil (does this meet the definition of "ice cream"?)
and it wasn't very nice. An adequate meal, but markedly inferior to the
meal provided in the much shorter BKK-SIN flight.

Flight duration: 2h 40m
Class: economy
Aircraft: Boeing 777-200
Meal: Lunch, Indian Vegetarian (AVMLI)
- Zucchini curry with rice and dahl, pita bread(?), cold salad of cassava(?),
rice dessert with pistachio, chutney, yoghurt
Drink: Water, bar service
Comments: Exquisite. Despite a 30 minute delayed take-off (due to an air
display at the airport), everything was served at the perfect temperature.
I don't think I have ever had a better dahl anywhere, beautifully spiced
and with a nice buttery flavour. Not entirely sure what the salad consisted
of, but it was very tasty. Another brilliant meal from Thai Airlines food, meal, catering.

Ticket price: Redemption Ticket
Flight duration: 1h 55m
Class: economy
Aircraft: B747-400
Meal: Dinner - Choice of Pork or Chicken. Dessert was a an interesting
but delicious banana crumble. Appetisers consisted of boiled squid with
seasonal vegetables and pasta. I've never liked boiled squid, so I left
it alone.
Drink: Coke and Coffee
Comments: Another excellent service on this short sector. Crew were friendly
and all smiles despite this being one of the most hectic full meal sectors
to do, and also the fact that it was their second sector of the day (this
being a turnaround flight for them).
