Shrimp salad, ice cream, Zaru Soba, green tea flavored ice cream, Japanese prawn cracker. Drink: Fruit Spritzer Comments: Succulent chunk of Salmon, very juicy and full of flavor. I've never enjoyed fish this much before. food, meal, catering ex-NRT has always been good. The shrimp salad looked really 'scary' closed up.... I initially thought there were lots of black 'seeds' in the salad...but later realised that they were shrimp eye balls!! The shrimps were sweet and crunchy though. The chicken tasted bland, pieces were too miniscule to really taste its flavor. Still a very good meal for economy class. Drink: Alcohol and non-alcohol Comments: Excellent fish... I am beginning to like the fish that SQ serves. Very rich in flavor. The shrimp salad was disappointment. Overall very satisfying meal. SQ serves good Y class meals compared to some other carriers. Drink: Any drink you fancy...they're all free of charge. Comments: Surprisingly good fish. The shrimps were succulent and were complemented perfectly with an oriental style Miso dressing. Very nice indeed. Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 8.5 Camera brand & type: Canon Powershot ![]() 661 ![]() 660 ![]() 659 Photo taken by: Mr. FP SEA Route: SIN-TPE-LAX, 13 Apr 2005 Ticket price: N/A. Flight duration: 18 hrs. Aircraft type & class: B777-200ER. Raffles Class (Business). Business or leisure trip: Business. Meal type: Dinner (SIN-TPE) Light Meal & Hot Breakfast (TPE-LAX) Contents of the meal: Dinner: Chicken Satay with onion, cucumber and spicy peanut sauce; seared tuna and soba noodle salad; Grilled rosemary infused chicken breast on steamed white asparagus, sauteed potato and red wine reduction; cheese and grapes; fresh fruit; rum and raisin ice cream. Drink: Charles Heidsieck Millesime 1995 Vintage; '02 Lockwood Chardonnay, Nipozzano '01 Riserva Chianto Rufina. Comments: Delayed 1.5 hours on the ground in SQ due to a problem with the de-icing system; FAs kept refilling our glasses with the excellent Heidsick Vintage Champagne. Nice touch. Satay served immediately after take-off and was an excellent snack. The Seared Tuna & Soba salad was delicious with salmon roe on top and a light and refreshing miso dressing. The main course left a lot to be desired. It was bland and in desperate need of seasoning. The previous flight I had pre-ordered a main course through Book-the-Cook and it was not great - barely heated and again, bland. Cheese was okay. Dessert on SQ is often ice cream which is the weakest aspect of their food, meal, catering. The wine was okay but nothing special. The Singapore Sling they mix on board is a bit sweet, but refreshing. Service was good, though they sometimes rush the meal service. The many tea and coffee choices are a great feature. You can choose from espresso, capuccino, mocha and a variety of teas including oolong, served Chinese style. Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 9 for presentation; 8 for taste; 10 for champagne; 7 for wine.
