Flight duration: 13:30
Aircraft type & class: B747-400, Y-class

Meal type: Lunch
Smoked Lamb with chat-potato salad ; Thai style red curry chicken with
spiced vegetables and steamed rice, cheese and crackers, bread roll and
butter, ice cream
Drink: Bloody Mary, Tiger Beer, Water,Coffee
Comments: Generous portions, Bloody Mary before the meal
was perfect... As this flight was departing from SQ's home base, I decided
to go for the Asian main dish, which turned out to be really spicy! Again,
a great meal from the people at SQ. On this flight, the crew were so friendly...
a nice change from some of the grumpy SQ cabin crew that I had encountered
recently...

Route: MEL to SIN, 8 Apr 2004
Flight duration: 7:00
Aircraft type & class: B777-300, Y-class
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: Breakfast
Fruit Appetiser, Yoghurt, Poached eggs with creamed spinach, mushrooms
and potatoes, hotcross bun,
Drink: OJ, Coffee
Comments: After the totally tasteless refreshment that
SQ had served after takeoff, this was a much better effort. The Eggs looked
tasty and were moist. Creamed spinach was a good attempt but wasn't creamy...

Route: MEL to SIN, 8 Apr 2004
Flight duration: 7:00
Aircraft type & class: B777-300, Y-class
Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: Refreshment
Turkish Bread with roast chicken and lettuce, chocolate bar
Drink: Fosters Beer, Coffee
Comments: Totally tasteless and dry sandwich, luckily,
I had eaten in the Silver Kris lounge before departure so I had a couple
of bites and left the rest of the meal... I really don't understand why
airlines insist on serving bone dry sandwiches... surely they must realise
that cabin air is drier than sea level and they should attempt to make
a sandwich that is moist. SImple answer is to use a softer bread and avoid
dry fillings.... At least the beer was drinkable and the cofee was nice.
