Dark chocolate and almond cake with double cream
A selection of Kennedy & Wilson chocolates
Drink: Dom Perignon 1996 Champagne, Langmeil 'Jackaman's' Cab Sauv 2002
Comments: QF93 was excellent. I must say that QF have lifted their game considerably.
This was to be confirmed also with the other QF flights QF107 and QF30. The F/As
were exceptional, taking a very attentive and friendly approach. One of the F/As
on QF93 remembered me from a previous flight and so this also helped make the
flight very enjoyable.
The food was very good. I noted that QF had upgraded the champagne offered to
vintage Dom Perignon!

Comments: This was a delicious meal. It's a shame the flight is a bit
short for this kind of service as the crew never got around to offering
me coffee. The bread roll (not pitcured) was warm and soft however there
was no butter on board to be served with the roll. For some reason everyone
else was given a garden salad however I got cheese and crackers, which
were very nice. However I found the service to be a bit inconisitient.

Meal type: Breakfast
Contents of the meal: Tomato, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, muffin and
fruit salad
Drink: Orange juice, "some bubbly" and coffee (not pictured)
Comments: The bacon and sausage were surprisingly tastily, and best of
all the eggs were very nice, well seasoned and full of favour. The fruit
salad was nice and fresh. The tomato was a little soggy, and blueberry
muffin would have been much nicer heated up and with some butter. An 8
out of 10, with -1 for cold coffee, but +0.5 for still having a hot meal
when we were the last served.

Meal type: Dinner, Asian Vegetarian
Contents of the meal: A sort of Ratatouille with arborio rice and Broccolini,
salad, bread roll, banana. Later, a Mini Magnum ice cream (not shown).
Drink: tea/coffee, regular cold drinks service
Comments: Small serve, but not a bad meal - better than it looked. Banana
very cold. Minor gripe which has been simmering for a while - why do they
skip the little extras like chocolate in the vegetarian meals? Regular
meal was a choice of two chicken dishes - too bad if you don't eat chicken!
Once again, service on this flight was above expectations - hope these
improvements are here to stay!

Flight duration: 50 min

Meal type: Snack, Asian Vegetarian
Contents of the meal: Spiced fruit in juice/syrup . Then flight attendant
offered regular snack (savoury biscuits) also.
Drink: No tea/coffee, but regular cold drinks service - I had Tonic
Comments: Meal came in a new bag which doubles as a table mat. It had
2 packs of (plastic) cutlery/napkin/sugar etc, most of which was redundant
as only one spoon was needed. Fruit was bland but OK, biscuits were delicious.
Not a lot of food, but it was a very short flight. Friendly service again
- Qantas seems to be improving.

Meal type:Dinner
Contents of meal: Entree of Prawn&Asparagus Salad with dressing, followed
by a Navarin of Lamb with delicious mash potato, followed by cheese platter,
port and later premium ice cream
Drink: South Australian Shiraz
Comments: The service was very professional. Pre-dinner drinks were accompanied
with a menu (choice of 3 mains). The starter came with a selection of
tasty dressings + bread rolls. The lamb dish was restaurant quality &
presentation- and quite generous; one of the tastiest airline meals I
have ever had. Having enjoyed it with a couple of glasses of McLaren Vale
red; desert was a choice of sweet or savory; I opted for the latter (photo).
A plate with generous portions of vintage cheddar and Brie from King Island,
Tasmania; a huge date, dried apricots and biscuits. Mmmm.. Port (and unlimited
champagne/wine) was offered, but i declined in favor of coffee, which
came with a chocolate coated macadamia nut. The whole exercise sent me
to sleep listening to Qantas' excellent Classic radio channel . Later
in the flight, a welcoming premium ice cream was offered... a treat both
economy and business class passengers get on flights to/from Perth.

Contents of the meal: Blueberry? Muffin
Drink: Lemonade
Comments: First week of the ‘enhanced’ meal service and the
deletion of the boxed meal service. This refreshment service was just
some sort of muffin, before it was an apple, cookie and container of water
at this time of the day. Muffin was ok, didn’t end up eating half
of it because it was too sweet. New tablemat helped clean up after though
as it was very crummy. Service was hurried due to the short duration of
flight and number on board (around 300)
