Chicken curry, curried pasta salad with smoked salmon, fresh salad, "lite" ranch
dressing, chocolate cake.
Drink: Water
Comments: Average NW meal, the smoked salmon is always nice to have.
As usual, the curry needed some spicy punch. My seatmate enjoyed her
meal and isn't the fan of spicy foods that I am. :)

Meal: Vegetarian dinner, vegetarian breakfast - Dinner: vegetarian curry, salad,
bread, pineapples, grapes.
Breakfast: rice with tomato sauce, fruit, plain bagel, grape jelly.
Drink: Water, orange juice.
Comments: Dinner: I tried NW's Spicy Asian Vegetarian meal. It was vegetarian,
as advertised, and not bad, but it was hardly spicy. No sign of any red pepper
in the curry. It was acceptable, though, as far as coach meals go. Not something
I'd order again, however.
Breakfast was equally bland and equally dreary. I was very disappointed that
the "spicy" aspect of the meal was missing.

salmon, salad with "lite" ranch dressing, yellow cake with white frosting,
bread.
Breakfast: Omlet, hash browns, sausage, Danish pastry, fruit salad, coffee.
Drink: Water
Comments: Dinner was surprisingly good for coach. I'm a big fan of smoked salmon
and the pasta salad was the highlight of the meal. The curry was okay but not
nearly spicy enough.
Breakfast was my seatmate's and he commented that it was acceptable but quite
boring.

Comments: I expect a bit better from NW. The casserole was better than

from NW on their dinner flights. The cookie was the highlight of the meal.
Though we still have warm bread withe the meal, so they get point for
not cutting that.

Route: MSP - LAX, 5 Apr 2006
Ticket price: ~$450
Flight duration: 3h 55m
Class: first
Aircraft: Boeing 757-300
Meal: Lunch - Turkey wrap, coleslaw, potato chips, oatmeal raisin cookie.
Drink: Water
Comments: The wrap was okay but bland enough that I was glad I brought
my own Tabasco. It also contained egg, which would've spelled trouble
for someone with an egg allergy as no one mentioned this when handing
out lunch. Veggie wraps were an option but no one wanted one - I was in
row 3 (of 6) in FC and I think I got the last turkey wrap. They should've
catered better.
The coleslaw was crunchy and just sweet/salty enough with a good hit of
vinegar. The potato chips were too greasy. The cookie was good but also
greasy.

Comments: Well, the taste wasn't bad, but the presentation for an international
business class product was not so great. Everything came out at once on
a single
tray. It would be nice to see the service split up a bit.
Rating: 6 overall. The service was pretty good on this sector.

Meal: Dinner - Fresh green salad with pipeapple trunks; served with naturally
fresh dressing
Bread with landlake butter spread;
Grilled chicken with potato and chopped onions;
Brown chocolate cake with coconut slices;
Drink: Regular Pepsi and white wine (forgot the name, sorry!)
Comments: The grilled chicken looks nice but it was tasteless. Also I
don't like the mix of salty naturally fresh dressing with sweet pipeapple
trunks. The chocolate cake is just too sweet. Anyway, not a great dinner
as the one I had one week later.

Drink: Assorted soft drinks, tea, coffee, juice were complimentary.
Comments: Very average meal, although the shrimp cocktail added value.

Meal: Snack, salad, dinner, dessert, breakfast - Snack: Cold beef tenderloin,
lobster tail, cashews. The beef was a little tough but ok, the lobster
was good - excellent texture and just sweet enough, the cashews were cold.
I only had a few as I prefer them warm.
Salad: Standard NW salad with ranch dressing. Veggies were nice and crunchy.
Dinner: Roasted salmon with mashed protatoes. Better than expected, nice
and moist. Asparagus was little too soft.
Dessert: Fresh strawberries, choclate ice cream in a pastry cup, Godiva
raspberry chocolate cookie, crackers with cheddar and blue cheeses. The
cheddar was mild and dull, the blue was a little better and creamy. I
preferred the blue. The strawberries were fresh and delicious, the ice
cream rich and the pastry cup crispy, the cookie was the perfect company
for the port.
Breakfast: Fruit salad was chilled a bit too much, the bread wasn't as
warm as advertised. The omlet was pretty good but a little rubbery, the
sausage was good but a bit too chewy.
Drink: Evian water, Fonesca Bin No. 27 Port
Comments: They were wet. It's all I need in a drink. :) The port was pretty
good.

our meals to be dried out and ineadble. I was supried to be deliver a
meal in such ecellent condition. Oveall an average airline breakfast delivered
by friendly F/A who has been dealing with irate pasengers. The eggs were
good, sausage bland and the potatoes were potatos not much you say about
them. The coffee cake was warmed and the butter easy to spread wth th

Ticket price: $175 (MCO-PHX) with Elite upgrade to First
Flight duration: 2h 55m
Class: first
Aircraft: Boeing 757-200
Meal: snack - Brunch - No Choice
A Bowl of Fresh Fruits
Pasta Chicken Salad with Cranberries
Warm Bread with Butter
DancingDeer Chocolate Peppermint Brownie
Drink: Apple Cranberry
Comments: The usual cold pasta salads NW are known for. The fruits were
fresh and tasted good. The chicken salad was good but I have been having
it for the last three years which can make it rather boring. The bread
was warm and much appreciated. I was sad to see the normal cake sliced
replaced with a brownie, which ended up tasting excellent.

Contents of the meal: Cheesy ravioli with Italian and
green salad. Ice Cream and coffee for dessert (they
had toppings to choose from, but I always have plain
vanilla). Yummy.

Comments: Wasn’t too bad, especially since they
served a few Mai-Tai’s before dinner. Maybe a bit too
much cheese on the ravioli.

Business or leisure trip: Leisure
Meal type: Snack
Contents of the meal: Cheese, crackers, summer sausage, oatmeal &
raisin granola bar (not pictured!), Goldfish crackers, dried fruit mix,
Oreo cookies
Drink: Diet Pepsi
Comments: Part of NWA's new food for sale program. This cost $3. A sandwich
was available for $5, but I wasn't that hungry. This was taken just after
the introduction of the program, so many people didn't know a complementary
lunch was no longer available, and many complained. Value for the money
was ok, there was a fair amount to nibble. The food included wasn't very
exciting (or healthy) but what does one expect for $3? The main quibble
I have is that they need to include one more packet of crackers. There
was too much cheese to spread on the two small ones enclosed, and the
Goldfish crackers don't really do the job. I was unenthusiastic about
the summer sausage, but it tasted (a little) better than I expected.
