Ticket price: C$667
Flight duration: 3:30
Aircraft & class: 757-300 FC, Leisure trip
Meal type: Dinner
Smoked salmon with boiled potatoes, creme fraiche & fish roe; salad
with dressing; chicken with bread dressing, green beans & squash(?),
carrot cake with icing and walnut
Drink: Water & white wine (Pays d'Oc chardonnay)
Comments: Back to the uninspiring Minneapolis meals.
NW adds an appetitiser (which was good because of the salmon and dollops
of presumably imitaton caviar) for longer haul flights. Same identical
dishes a few days earlier (see 3 Dec. MSP-BWI flight). Wine was quite
good for NW but a litte bit too applely.

Ticket price: C$667
Flight duration: 2:30
Aircraft & class: DC-9 FC, Leisure trip
Meal type: Lunch
Mixed Salad; chicken pasta salad; chocolate cake
Drink: White wine & water
Comments: Quite a nice meal for NW.Some variety in this
salad. Olives, jalapeno, onions and tomatoes adding flavour to the salad
(very good dressing). 4 colour pasta wit chicken was quite flavourful
with the creamy cheese dressing. Chocolate cake was very chocolately and
excellent.

Meal type: Lunch
Belgian endives with curried crab filling, tomatoes and dip; chicken with
mash potatoes, red peppers and green beans with gravy; salad with dressing;
cheese cake
Drink: Some real cheap & awful California wine
Comments: Another solid but mostly uninspiring NW FC
meal. The belgian endives with curried crab filling was actually quite
good. Cheese cake was as usual too sweet. Wine tasted like home-made -
too sweet and cloying. From one of the big California fermented grape
juice refineries

Business or leisure trip: leisure
Meal type: Light Snack
One Fischer's Almonds bag, and one Spinzels bag.
Drink: Pepsi
Comments: The flight attendant was very courteous and
offered multiple times if we needed anything, but I think Northwest could
have served a light meal.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 3 for the light snack, 10 for
the courteous flight attendant

Lounge Area: WorldClub lounge in Detroit
Meal type: Light Snack
Pepperidge Farm Milano and Brussels cookies, Walker's Pure Butter Shortbread,
and Biscoff Biscuits
Drink: Coffee and Sahara Cranberry Juice
Comments: These items were part of a selection of items
from the self-service bar in the central WorldClub lounge in Detroit.
Some of the items, like Pepperidge Farms, are high-quality and not a cheap
imitation. In between the coffee and the cranberry juice is a Citavo Hot
Cocoa Mix. NW could have probably offered a slightly more variety of food
items like AA and UA does at their lounges.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 4 for the variety of selections

Comments: The flight attendant spilled my drink! Okay,
we are humans, and we are not perfect, but what upsetted me was the oblivious
attitude held by the flight attendant when he did not offer to bring extra
napkins to clean up the mess.
Rating 1-10 (worst-best): 0 for the flight attendant
attitude, 3 for the light snack

Meal type: Dinner
Contents: 4 shrimps with lemon and seafood sauce
- salad bowl with packaged dressing
- bowl of beef, potatoes and vegetables

- followed by ice cream sundae
Comments: O.K. food. Not very good compared to int'l
BC (WBC) in terms of food and presentation. Typical NW N. American food.
Beef tasted like it was cooked in a Crockpot. Ice cream sundae was the
best part, followed by the shrimp/prawns which were rather fresh.

Meal type: Lunch
Contents of the meal: Appetizer: Garden Salad, Jumbo Shrimp. 2nd course:
Grilled Chicken with vegetables and potatoes. Dessert: cheesecake . Roll

Comments: The salad was nice, due to great Rasberry dressing.
The chicken however was dry and not very good. Cheesecake was as usual,
but I am not a big fan of cheesecakes. The other main course choice was
pasta. Note the metal knife in the picture!
