Drink: The usual selection. I avoided the wines, and went for water.
Comments: At dinner-time we were served this brunch-style meal. Funny, I thought. Why not serve dinner at dinner time? But the meal was quite good. The calzone was tasty, and the salad (with 2 olives and some feta-style chese)fresh and inviting. Good, actually. The mousse tasted largely artificial; maybe because it was. The fruits, although natural, tasted horrible due to the extremely unpleasant brine it was put in. I did enjoy, however, the 2 Sudoku puzzles that was printed on the box, and it was kind of KLM to ebclose a small pencil. Or maybe that was part of the dinner...? Let me just add with saying that the food service on this trip was lacking, certainly in taste, but also in terms of size. I was really hungry.

Drink: Selection of two wines, soft drinks or beer. I had a white Solaris Chenin-Blanc 2004.
Comments: A pretty standard KLM meal, and not very good. The smoked salmon was practically unedible. On previous flights it has been better, althoug never top. The celeriac salad has been really good, but this time took on the flavours of the bad salmon. The Szechuan sauce was actually spicy, but in a bland way. Npt horrible, bot definately nothing remarkable, either. The portion was small. The chocolate cake tasted of plastic, and I guess what is a number of artificial flavourings. The cheese was the only good news about this lunch; too bad that I was served margerine instead of butter to go with the bread.

The wine, which I take it is standard KLM Economy-white) Solaris Chenin-Bland 2004 was not good. The nose was alright, altough not immensly pleasing with its hints of unripe honey-melon and gooseberrys, but when sipping in the liquid one realized that it was more or less biting into a lemon, with unpleasant, yeasty undertones that grew in your mouth before the dry, bitter finish. Not enjoyable.
