Route: Turin to Madrid, 2003-06-09
Date added: 2009-11-18
Flight duration: 1h 00m
Flight class: economy
Ticket price:
Aircraft: Fokker 100 jet
Meal:
Drink: Orange juice and lemon tea out of a good selection of juices and other beverages.
Comments: Despite also Portugalia having cut on food, meal, catering costs - at least in economy - this was still a really enjoyable full hot breakfast, quite a rarity these days on a flight lasting slightly less than 2 hours. Scrambled eggs and bacon were very tasty and well cooked. Pity that stainless cutlery has been replaced by disposable plastic ware and the offering of cream puffs that followed the tray service when I flew this same sector less than two years ago has been cut.

Route: Madrid to Turin, 2003-06-09
Date added: 2009-11-18
Flight duration: 1h 00m
Flight class: economy
Ticket price:
Aircraft: Fokker 100 jet
Meal:
Drink: Signature 2000 Mateus Portuguese red wine and sparkling water out of a good range of drinks.
Comments: Not really a full dinner. In this case Portugalia has been cutting a bit too much around the costs: the beef casserole was really tiny - and just average quality - and there was no trace of fruits or a dessert. Good thing, though, that they still provide a hot meal in economy on flights lasting less than two hours.

Route: Turin to Madrid, 2004-05-21
Date added: 2009-11-18
Flight duration: 1h 00m
Flight class: economy
Ticket price:
Aircraft: Fokker 100 jet
Meal:
Drink: Pineapple juice and lemon tea out of a good selection of juices and other beverages.
Comments: Portugalia still provides its economy class passengers with a completely satisfying food, meal, catering product. I'd say the quality has even improved over last year, on this same route: the hot plate was excellent, the yogurth was tasty and yummy, and the croissants very fresh and offered meny times. Very nice pineapple juice and great service from the three ladies attending the flight. Considering this was economy class, full applause to Portugàlia.

Flight class: economy
Ticket price:
Aircraft: Embraer 145 jet

Comments: A nice snack for such a short flight, though not very impressive. Full marks, anyway, being 2004 and economy class in Europe!

Flight duration: 1h 10m
Flight class: business
Ticket price:
Aircraft:
Meal:
Drink: Signature 2000 Mateus Portuguese red wine and sparkling water out of a good range of drinks.
Comments: A pleasant hot light lunch on this lightly laden flight. This is sort of an upgraded Economy product, featuring hot meals partly served on Business Class china, using Portugàlia's very classy design on Vista Alegre porcelainware. a cotton napkin was provided as well, but glasses and cutlery were plastic.

Flight duration: h m
Flight class:
Ticket price: 250€ Business or leisure trip: Business

Meal: Prawn cocktail with lettuce and tomato, two open face sandwiches with cold meat and vegetable salad with mayonnaise sauce, grape, small cheese portion, crackers, bread and butter.
Drink: White and red Mateus wine, Porto wine, choice of liquors, cold drinks, coffee or tea.
Comments: In addition to the high class treatment received at Portugalia business lounge at Lisbon airport, including unlimited self service half bottles of Ruinart champagne (!!!) and generous food, this good quality cold meal served at an unusual meal time for portuguese and spanish customers (6:00 pm) on a very short flight confirms that award winning "Private Club" of Portugalia really has to be recongnized as one of the best european in-flight product.
