I was surprised. It was nice to not be served an entirely vegan meal when ordering a vegetarian meal. The packaged roll was sad, as expected. The brownie was low-fat and therefore low-taste. Iceberg lettuce - why bother. Really, the main was decent enough to be much better than the vast majority of airline vegetarian meals. It was a packaged, gummy, jammy disaster. Where is the cream cheese? Where is the heating? At least there was yogurt... And at least I was landing in Paris in 30 minutes so I could binge on pastry. I love fennel salads so I really enjoyed that. Cheese and crackers were great - usually vegetarians get the vegan meal which I don't like too much. Dessert could have been more substantial than fruit but at least you can't ruin fruit. The white wine was atrocious. Did not drink. Just in case you didn't get enough apple eating the apple itself, they give you applesauce too. The FA handed out ice cream to the rest of the passengers and wouldn't give us any since we ordered vegetarian meals. !!! 15 minutes later she came back with some extras for us. Chicken curry, curried pasta salad with smoked salmon, fresh salad, "lite" ranch dressing, chocolate cake. Drink: Water Comments: Average NW meal, the smoked salmon is always nice to have. As usual, the curry needed some spicy punch. Breakfast: rice with tomato sauce, fruit, plain bagel, grape jelly. Drink: Water, orange juice. Comments: Dinner: I tried NW's Spicy Asian Vegetarian meal. It was vegetarian, as advertised, and not bad, but it was hardly spicy. No sign of any red pepper in the curry. It was acceptable, though, as far as coach meals go. Not something I'd order again, however. Breakfast was equally bland and equally dreary. I was very disappointed that the "spicy" aspect of the meal was missing. Breakfast: Omlet, hash browns, sausage, Danish pastry, fruit salad, coffee. Drink: Water Comments: Dinner was surprisingly good for coach. I'm a big fan of smoked salmon and the pasta salad was the highlight of the meal. The curry was okay but not nearly spicy enough. Breakfast was my seatmate's and he commented that it was acceptable but quite boring.
