Route: to , 1970-01-01
Date added: 2008-05-21
Flight duration: h m
Flight class:
Ticket price:
Aircraft:
Meal: Lunch: -Bibimbop -Pickled radish -Fresh fruits or -Corn salad topped with chicken -Beef with gravy, buttered potato, and vegetables -Fresh fruits -Bread roll wit butter Dinner: -Carrot and pea salad with baby shrimps -Chicken teriyaki with fried rice and broccoli -or- Ravioli in creamy sauce -Carrot cake?
Drink: Guava juice during the bar service. All kinds of drinks, including alcoholic drinks, are also avaliable with various snacks throughout the flight.
Comments: For side dishes, fruits were actually fresh and cold this time! Appetizers, though, became worse! Chicken in corn salad had fishy smell, and carrot and pea salad was just a bad combination. Main dishes were great as usual, except the pasta. It tasted just like what the boarding school cafeteria gives you!

Route: LA to NRT, 2004-02-12
Date added: 2008-05-21
Flight duration: 11h 30m
Flight class: business
Ticket price: $1,700 One-way (full fare Y fare with free UPGD to Prestige class)
Aircraft: B777--200 3-class Prestige (C)
Meal: **LUNCH**: Smoked salmon appetiser/salad and Chicken with noodles, asian style. Cheese and/or Green tea moose cake or Japanese traditional dessert (not shown). **SNACK**: Warm cookies, packaged nuts, crackers, etc. **DINNER**: Mozerella & tomato appetiser/salad and swordfish with vegetables with red wine sauce. Papaya dessert.
Drink: Kir Royale (Champagne and creme de casis mix -- rare for an airline offering)
Comments: Very attentive and elegant service by the flight attendants, however, the content of the meals were disappointing. All beef choices have been eliminated since the B.S.E. scare but the menu has not reflected the change. Warm rolls were offered only once as with wine. A separate appetiser and salad is not offered either. The main course, as you can see, is glorified economy class meal with nothing exciting. The Korean Bibimpop choice looked more substantial, however looked identical to economy class offering of the same choice. (see pic 32 and 42) The most annoying thing of all is that they turned on the lights and offered "dinner" 3 1/2 hours before landing, perhaps because it was about 6:30 pm LA time? I can't think of any other airline who does this. After dinner the lights are turned off again and everyone takes a nap before landing. Good thing this was not an over-night flight. Overall, I only paid full Y economy fare and got to sit in business so I shouldn't gripe so much??

Route: NR to LAX, 2004-01-17
Date added: 2008-05-21
Flight duration: 9h 30m
Flight class: business
Ticket price: JPY 45,000 (USD 500 one-way)
Aircraft: B777-200 3-class
Meal:
Drink: Water
Comments: It's been almost 20 years since I've flown Korean Air trans-pacific. The seat was comfortable and the food was tasty. Bibimpap is filling and good quality. Somehow, they only served juices and water during the "cocktail" service and also offered only red & white wine during the meal service. All other airlines, US or Int'l, offer a full range of drinks before and during the meal... is this a cost-cutting initiative on Korean Air's part??? Breakfast was served 2 hours before landing and the lights were turned on full bright. Good thing I was awake.
