The salad leaves were really fresh. The dressing
was very nice. Metal knives again. The gravlax with honey mustard sauce
was good. They had the sauce in a hollowed out cucumber. Good presentation.
The main courses we had were very disappointing. They were very bland.
However, the rice was reasonable, not all hard and crusty. Thank goodness
for the kimchis and the chilli paste. Otherwise, the prawn and the chicken
dishes would be flat! The selection of cheeses was safe, nothing adventurous.
Points added for using Carr's Table Water crackers. I find them very good
for cheeses. Fruits were fresh and sweet. The cake was unpalatable! I
could not even force myself to finish it. Neither could my wife. It was
completely tasteless. I did not expect the 'fruits' in the cake to be
of the dried type. |

"This meal comes in the small hours in the morning
but overall still tasted good. The salad was simple and not too heavy. The beef
main course was devised by a local famous restaurant Yung Kee but obviously
quality in the air cannot be compared with that found in the restaurant. Nevertheless
beef was tender and rice cooked just right. The dessert was not too bad." |

"The ham salad was ok. The bread roll was warm.
The kimchi pack was a thoughtful touch because the chicken dish was very bland
and needed the kimchi to spice it up! The beef stew was good, with a flavourful
sauce. The kimchi, however, did not go very well with this Western dish......The
pre-packed jelly was good. Very fruity and not too sweet." |

"CX is doing the 'Best Chinese Food in the Air'
promotion and they got the famous Yung Kee Restaurant to do their menus on outbound
flights from HKG. This Kung Po Chicken was a bit of a disappointment. The flavour
was bland. It should be spicy and sweet. The other hot entree was dry . However,
the potatoes were tasty. The salad was ok. The bread roll was warm. We did not
bother with the Picnic bars. The saving graces for the meals were the Movenpick
ice-creams. One was chocolate truffle and the other was vanilla. They were very
good. I wish they served them separately after the meal because the heat from
the main dish was starting to melt the ice-cream." |
